Weathering
- Weathering means the breaking down of rocks into sediments.
- After rocks have been broken in to pieces, other forces carry those pieces far away.
- There are two types of weathering, the first one is called mechanical weathering and the second one is called, chemical weathering.
- Mechanical weathering occurs when rocks are broken apart by physical processes.
- There are three main causes of mechanical causes.
- The first one is... Plants.
- The second one is.... Animals.
- The third one is..... Water.
- Chemical Weathering causes when chemical changes dissolve in the minerals of rocks and/or change the minerals into different types of minerals.
- Chemical weathering can change the chemical composition of the rocks, which may weaken the rocks.
